Project Overview
South Salt Lake and Millcreek are working together on a Station Area Plan (SAP) for the area 1/2 mile around the Meadowbrook and Millcreek transit stations. This plan will guide future development, focusing on increasing the availability and affordability of housing, promoting sustainable environments, enhancing opportunities for businesses, and improving connections between housing, transportation, and parking to encourage transit use.
This plan will help make sure that new buildings and businesses fit in with the neighborhood, create more opportunities for housing, bring in jobs, and improve access to public transit. It's also an opportunity to create vibrant, walkable, and connected communities for everyone.

LOCAL LINK TRANSPORTATION STUDY
We teamed up with Salt Lake City, South Salt Lake and the City of Holladay on Local Link to improve connectivity between our cities through walking, biking and transit solutions. We worked together to develop transportation priorities to guide the effort and influence its outcomes.
The ongoing transit study is being done to address population and traffic projections for 2050, since knowing we won’t be able to rely on cars alone to keep people moving between Sugar House, Millcreek and Holladay in the future.
The study team has gathered data and analyzed four types of transit: streetcar, light rail, Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and enhanced bus along two main routes: 1300 East and Highland Drive.
Check out Local Link's Interactive Story Map to see the results of their months-long public survey and their proposals for transit alternatives in Millcreek.
