Business of the Month WinnersMBC proudly hosts the Business of the Month award to connect our community with its leaders! We want to learn about you – what makes your business unique, what lessons have you learned that may help others, and how do you give back (i.e. community service, civic engagement, events, fundraisers, local sponsorships, etc.)? We invite you to think of this application as less of a “sales pitch” for your products – and more of a legacy builder. If a statue was built in your honor, what would the plaque say? Have fun with it… and find us on social @MillcreekBusinessCouncil to view past recipients for inspiration! Questions: please contact jshowalter@millcreek.us or 801-214-2761.

July's Business of the Month212 Fitness was founded in 2012 in Millcreek as a community gym. We are a smaller gym on purpose- we really like being connected with our athletes through long-term relationships and helping them connect to one another to reach their fitness goals. It’s important to us that our athletes build strength in the gym to fuel their activities out of the gym- whether that’s skiing, biking, or hiking or just staying active and healthy for their families. We believe strongly in giving back to the community we are based in – we do multiple events a year to support local groups. One of our favorite activities is our Thanksgiving “Give Back” event where we raise money and food and provide it to places like LifeStart Village- a residential village for women and children learning gradual independence- as well as cooking meals for the Ronald McDonald House and Primary Children’s Hospital Family Room. Last year we raised over $5000 for the students of Horizonte High School to have Thanksgiving Dinners and school supplies since their families were hit so hard by the pandemic. We also have a number of families in our community that have been tragically affected by ALS, so each fall, we host our ROW4ALS Rowathon to raise money for the University of Utah’s ALS Research Center. We love helping to sponsor and train many of our local sports teams, and overall being a positive and empowering place to be in Millcreek.

August's Business of the MonthAdib's Rug Gallery has been a long-standing supporter of not only the preservation of the area and the Villa theater building itself but also active in the education field as well as many other venues of passion for Dr. Adib. Several times a year Dr. Adib arranges with educators to bring their classes in fields of design and languages to enjoy a personal tour of the Gallery, the history of rug making, other long-standing traditions in our world, and the importance of being actively involved in the community to further the goodness and generosity in the world. The Gallery is actively involved in supporting fundraising efforts of several organizations to further varying fields of the arts, education, entertainment, and medical causes locally and internationally. Several events are held in the Gallery furthering the causes and their missions. Dr. Adib gives so freely of his time, his knowledge, and wisdom by sharing on a daily basis with clients, friends, and his staff. Spending time with Dr. Adib and sharing his experiences is a treasure that all who are lucky enough to do this, will tell you they are truly blessed.

September's Business of the MonthMy name is Peggy Silva, owner of The Willow Salon. I have been a salon owner in the Millcreek area for 45 years. I love what I do, helping my clients look and feel beautiful. I find joy when I can change someone's mood for the positive, and I hope that creates a ripple effect in the community. I have clients who started coming to me as babies and watched them grow into young adults, then parents, bringing in their own children. Growing up here, I have deep roots in the Millcreek community and have not wanted to live anywhere else. I enjoy telling the histories of the area to new clients moving into the area. I hope to continue my work for many years to come.
