Employee Retention Credit

Landon Schofield -- ERC Pros

Do you have W2 employees?

Business owners who paid employees during the pandemic (2020/2021) are claiming up to 26,000 per W2 employee.

How are they doing this?

This has been made available under the federal CARES act (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security act). Business owners are taking advantage of ERC due to its compatibility with the PPP loan. Most business owners qualify for this, even if they received the PPP loan, or had good revenues during the pandemic.

The employee retention credit (ERC) is a tax return on wages that owners paid during the pandemic so there is no need to pay it back.

To see if you qualify, have questions, or want to easily claim this credit contact Landon Schofield.

Wellness Corner: You're Doing Great

Ben Fogel -- Epic Fitness

I’m a little concerned about “us.”  You know, the human race.

We all seem to be extra stressed, overworked and, frankly, a little mixed up.

Everyone seems to be fighting this overwhelming feeling that things are getting worse, that we should be doing more and that we’re not good enough.

Well, life isn’t perfect, that is for sure. There have always been problems and there always will be. You can fight for the things that you believe in, you can work really, really hard, but you shouldn’t lose track that while you are doing all that, life is moving at breakneck speed.

I would like to offer you one suggestion here:

Take a deep breath…exhale, look around.  Look at all that you have accomplished.  Just take one moment to reflect, and you will realize - You're actually doing great.

Here’s the thing - we are living in one of the best times in history - with airplanes, self-driving cars, scooters, and even peanut butter infused pretzels!  We have air conditioners, watches that tell us when to stand up and stretch, and martini shakers.

It’s time to refocus, reflect on how much you have done, enjoy it all, and stop waiting for something better.

Here's a great way to highlight how GREAT you are truly doing.  Write down ONE thing you can reflect on that you are grateful for.  The human mind is our strongest asset, and gratitude builds that "muscle" for long term health.

And remember, you're doing great.

MBC Service Project: Get to the River Festival

Join the Millcreek Business Council on September 10th as we help clean our beautiful Jordan River! All supplies are provided, just bring your eco-friendly attitude!

The Jordan River faces many challenges as an urban river running through the heart of the Salt Lake Valley, one of which is trash in the river. The litter comes from a variety of sources, litter and debris wash into the river from the many stormwater drains that empty into the river, some litter is a result of the adjacent trail users neglect, and other debris is thrown in the river intentionally.

The most effective way (and in some cases ONLY way) to remove the trash is from the river using canoes with nets. The Jordan River Commission has 6 canoes for a maximum of 18 people to get the job done. The JRC brings the canoes, PFDs, paddles, and instruction. All we need is volunteers to help with hauling trash from the rive
