Event InformationCheck out the Millcreek Business Market on Thursday, September 14th from 4 – 8 PM at Millcreek Common (1354 E Chambers Ave). Join over 40 local businesses at the Millcreek Business Market and enjoy fresh cut flowers, haircuts, Thai food, skin care products, henna tattoos, permanent jewelry, dog treats and toys, boba, and more! 19 of the 40+ local businesses are hiring job seekers as well! There will also be roller skating, food trucks, and Free Twisted Sugar drinks and cookies for the first 100 attendees’ courtesy of US Bank! Patrons can park on the North side of the Granite Credit Union Adventure Hub and enter through Woodland Avenue to get to Chambers Avenue. Chambers Avenue is currently under construction. |

Millcreek's Annual Community Choice Awards - Voting Closes TOMORROW! The Millcreek Business Council is hosting the October Business Gala once again this year! At the Gala, we will be awarding businesses in Millcreek with Community Choice Awards, Mayor's Choice Awards, and recognizing the Business of the Year! Community Choice Awards gives the public the opportunity to nominate your business for one or several of the 5 categories: 1) Best Retail Business, 2) Best Restaurant/Bar, 3) Best Service, 4) Best Nonprofit, 5) Best Workplace. You can start the voting process by sharing this with your customers! Fill out the Community Choice Awards survey HERE! Voting will close Friday, September 8th, 2023. Millcreek Interfaith Weekend of Service! Millcreek Interfaith and the Millcreek Promise Program have put together a wonderful Weekend of Service from September 8th to September 10th! They are currently looking for volunteers to sign up to 1) participate in the service projects, 2) help run the service projects, and 3) sign up to donate blood. Epic Fitness Wellness Corner - Fundamentals of Fat Loss Part 1By: Ben Fogel “I have tried every diet, and nothing seems to help me lose this stubborn fat.” “What is the best way for me to lose fat, and keep muscle?” “Where do I start when it comes to fat loss?” These are a lot of the questions that our team gets asked at Epic Fitness often. There seems to be this unknown surrounding losing fat (and keeping it off healthfully) that every “diet” out there doesn’t do a great job answering. The question we should be asking is, “What are the top 1-3 things I need to focus on to lose body fat and to keep it off for the long term?” Well, you are in luck! That is exactly what this 5 part series will be all about. We will start by laying out the 3 principles of fat loss that will always stand the test of time. In order to lose body fat and keep it off, you need to: - Burn more calories than you take in (Calorie deficit)
- Include strength training 3x/week
- Eat plenty of protein

Economic Assistance Grant - Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity - OPEN TODAY!The Utah Legislature allocated $4.5 million for an Economic Assistance Grant program administered by the Governor's Office of Economic Opportunity. The grant assists Utah businesses that promote and support economic opportunity and provide a service related to industry, education, community development, or infrastructure. The grant opens on Sept. 7, 2023, and will close on Sept. 21, 2023. Additional information, including qualifications and applications, will be posted in August. Find the Grant Information HERE!

Get to the River Festival - Jordan River Canoe Clean Up - Sign Up Today! Millcreek and the Jordan River Commission are partnering on the Get to the River Festival - Jordan River Canoe Clean Up event! This event is going to be on Saturday, September 30th from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Location details will follow volunteer registration. We are searching for 15 volunteers to sign up to canoe down the Jordan River and pick up trash along the riverside and in the river itself. This is a great opportunity to volunteer with the community and to help clean up the environment! If you are interested in signing up, please sign up HERE! Volunteers must be 14+ years of age and have some canoeing experience (know how to safely get in and out of a canoe, know how to steer a canoe, etc)! |
