William Penn Elementary School is Looking for Help! Our school year at William Penn Elementary is underway and going smoothly. As a previous school supporter/local business, we want to provide you with the opportunity to help provide an amazing year for our students. Our school is experiencing a major transition due to a school merge between William Penn Elementary and Millcreek Elementary. As a result, the school population increased by about 20% and our current enrollment is 670 students! We have a faculty of 40 and about 20 paraprofessionals for a total of 60 staff members; thus making school sponsorships even more vital this year. Dr. Nichole Higgins is our principal, our PTA President is Sidsie Drysdale, and I, April Flores, serve as the PTA president elect.
One of our major events is our Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day on Tuesday, November 14, 2023, where our students will learn about Ruby Bridges and how to be welcoming and kind to everyone. If you’d like to help with this event, we’d appreciate the support. You’re also welcome to help with other smaller events such as Wonderful Wednesdays in which we provide some type of treat, lunch, breakfast, flowers, drinks or snacks to our staff once a month. Attached below is our full sponsorship letter and details explaining our events and how your donation makes a difference. There are ample opportunities to support our school and we are appreciative of any size monetary donation, food donation, donation of products or services, and the donation of volunteered time. Each donation makes a difference! Please know that our PTA is a nonprofit and that we have two levels of contribution: - GOLD LEVEL - $500.00+
- We will prominently display a banner with your company’s image or logo outside of our school along Siggard Drive.
- All Silver Level benefits
- SILVER LEVEL - $250.00-$499
- Appreciation shared for your company sponsorship through the William Penn PTA Instagram account.
- Recognition in the William Penn Pennline Monthly Newsletter.
If you prefer to make a monetary donation, please make checks payable to: William Penn Elementary PTA. I can either pick up the check in person or you can mail it to the school address: William Penn Elementary, ATTN: William Penn PTA, 1670 Siggard Dr., Millcreek, UT 84106. If your contribution is $250+, please send us your business logo as a jpeg or pdf file so that we may begin your benefits as soon as possible. If you have any questions, I’m happy to answer them to the best of my ability. We look forward to hearing from you and hope to form a partnership with you. Thank you for your time, consideration, and possible support. You and your companies make a positive impact on so many of our community members and for that, I am eternally grateful. Epic Fitness Wellness Corner - Fundamentals of Fat Loss Part 4 - Eat Plenty of ProteinBy: Ben Fogel In Part I found here, we talked about an overview of what we need to do to lose fat. In Part II here, we covered burning more calories than what you take in (a calorie deficit). In Part III found here, we discussed the secret weapon of fat loss: strength training. Today, we will be talking about how to up your protein game. As a reminder, you need to consistently do 3 things to make your body burn fat: - Burn more calories than you take in
- Strength train 3 days per week
- Get plenty of protein
To start, let’s uncover what protein actually is. Protein is an energy containing macronutrient that is responsible for or has a hand in virtually every process in the body. For the purposes of this post, it is vital in repairing and restructuring muscle and other tissues. Outside of that it is important in other cellular structures, immunity and enzymatic processes. It’s an important part of optimizing body processes, including fat loss. Common protein containing foods are things like chicken, beef, beans, soy, and dairy.
