Congratulations Shonnie Studio of Art!

Shonnie Studio of Art is Business of the Month!

I have been passionate about art since I was very young, learning from many amazing teachers both in school and within the Millcreek community. Over time, my art has grown into a thriving business, allowing me to share creativity and joy with others. I offer art lessons for all ages in drawing and painting, and have expanded into hosting events, parties, and special occasions. These experiences are designed for all ages and interests, featuring custom glitter tattoos, vibrant face painting, educational paint nights, and guided art décor projects.

I am proud to serve the local community by supporting charities, PTSA/PTA groups, schools, and businesses. Bringing art to these spaces has created joy for children, families, and friends while fostering connection, healing, and teamwork. Through art, I’ve seen people from all walks of life come together, and I feel grateful to uplift my community through the power of creativity.

Ways to Engage

Season of Service Grant for Benefit Holiday Party
  • Canyon Rim is Community - Season of Service! This holiday season, Canyon Rim is Community will help neighbors transform their gatherings into a force for good. Partner with us to provide small grants to individuals and families who wish to host a Season of Service Holiday Benefit Party — a simple, joyful way to celebrate while supporting local nonprofits.

Hosts choose a beneficiary nonprofit and invite their guests to contribute in a meaningful way. Guests may bring donations such as cash, gift cards, or needed goods, or they may participate in a hands-on service project during the event. Get involved by sponsoring a Season of Service grant (or two). Grants will be offered to reimburse expenses of up to $500 per party. Your support empowers hundreds of individuals to make a real difference this holiday season. Together, we can celebrate the season by strengthening our community and spreading generosity where it’s needed most. Check out the sponsorship prospectus or contact Nate Gibby (nategibby@me.com, 801.674.4719) to get involved.

  • Skyline Highschool's Business Club will be competing in the upcoming FBLA and DECA regional competitions during the first week of December. They are in need of volunteer judges and are reaching out to the business community for support.

The FBLA Regional Competition will take place at the University of Utah on December 5, and the DECA Regional Competition will be held at BYU on December 2.

If you or someone in your business would like to serve as a judge, please contact Teacher John Johnson at jvjohnson@graniteschools.org for more information.

Free Computer Stands

FREE COMPUTER STANDS

A local company is giving away 30 free computer stands, all in great condition and fully functional. The stands are relatively new, but the business is updating their design and didn’t want these perfectly good stands to go to waste.

Help us reduce waste and promote reuse by giving these stands a new home.

Contact Shawn LaMar at slamar@millcreekut.gov if you’re interested.
