Orchard Drive Storm Drain Improvement
Project Overview
Millcreek addresses community flooding complaints by implementing a new storm drain system along Siggard Avenue, extending toward 1720 East and Orchard Drive. This initiative aims to manage excess rainfall and prevent water accumulation on roadways, thereby reducing the risk of flooding in homes. The project will improve overall drainage in the area and maintain safe conditions for residents. The project will include the installation of drainage inlets, piping, and other necessary infrastructure.
Millcreek will notify residents in the affected area before the construction schedule. Residents can expect the following during the project:
- Construction activities will take place during daytime hours, 8 a.m. – 5 p.m.
- Increased noise, dust, and vibration
- Intermittent road closures and traffic shifts
- Temporary driveway closures for residents directly impacted
- Staging of construction equipment, materials, and traffic control
Project Timeline & Updates
05.29.2025
Crews will begin setting up construction equipment, traffic control devices, and vehicles along the project corridor, starting as early as Monday, June 2.
06.10.2025
Crews have begun excavating trenches along Siggard Avenue to install the storm drain pipes in the area. For the safety of the crews and the public, lanes are shifted to one side, and a temporary traffic light is set up to mitigate traffic. We expect crews to complete the installation along Siggard by the end of the month and begin asphalt paving activities soon after.
06.24.2025
Due to unexpected encounters with utility lines, the project schedule is experiencing delays. Crews continue to work on backfilling Siggard Ave and expect to re-open traffic for the Independence Day holiday. Afterwards, we will plan to apply new asphalt along the project limits.
07.10.2025
Crews have completed installing stormdrain pipes along Siggard and will begin working along 1720 E (Orchard Dr.). Residents can expect access to Orchard Dr. from Siggard Ave. to be closed for the next couple of weeks. Driveway access may be intermittently closed during construction activities. If you have any concerns, please contact Erica at (801) 214-2616.
*Construction schedule is subject to change due to delay
