Education Coordinator: Kristy Ghimire Parajuli (she/her )

Kristy was born and raised in Utah and calls Salt Lake City her home. She is a first generation Nepalese American who graduated from the University of Utah in 2024 with a double bachelor’s in political science and health, Society, and Policy. She started as an education intern for Millcreek and now is the Education Coordinator. She wears many hats in this role.  She works with different schools, teachers, parents, and partners to support our goal and community. She also is the lead youth council advisor that works with our Millcreek Youth Council.  She loves her role and working with her team to support the community. Kristy loves hiking, dancing, going out with her friends, and being with her family. 

MISSION:

To support our Millcreek Youth with their educational pathways from K-12 and post-secondary education

 Education Committee:

This committee is made up of different community members and partners who come together once a month to discuss ways how we can best support Millcreek youth with their educational needs.

 School Partnership Meetings: 

The education coordinator attends school partnership meetings with the following schools: James E Moss Elementary, William Penn Elementary, Evergreen Junior High, and Cottonwood High School. In these partnership meetings, we see how the city can best support the schools.

The education coordinator also works with Olympus High School, Skyline, and Utah International Charter School.

  • Supporting ESL adults at Bud Baily apartments with the Child supervision program.
